Welcome to Starchild Enterprise!
I am Traci Bartlow, founder and creative director of Starchild Enterprise. The name Starchild Enterprise, is based on the African Adinkra symbol Nsoroma. This image of a star translates to mean, 'my illumination is merely a reflection of God'. As Starchild's Founder and Creative Director I embody this sentiment as I use all the talents I have been blessed with as a performance and visual artist. I strive to live as my highest self and encourage others to do the same. I have been called a healer. My work spans as a director, choreographer, educator, consultant, gardener, lecturer, photographer and, founder of B-Love's Guest House.
Starchild Enterprise is the umbrella company for my many creative endeavors. There are 3 enterprises Starchild houses. 1. I am a Praise dancer, conduit of the African diaspora. From Lindy Hop to Hip Hop I speak black dance. My passion is documenting and preserving black dance and culture. 2. Premiering in 2020, Oakland Picture Lady: Tales of a 90's Girl is an exhibition of photographs, collages, and short stories from my days as a Hip Hop photojournalist from 1992 - 1999. For gallery hours please message here. In 2018 there were a few images of my photography collection on display at the Oakland Museums Hip-Hop exhibition RESPECT: Hip Hop Style & Wisdom. 3. Founded in 2008 B-Love's Guest House is boutique hotel in West Oakland, California. As the owner and operator, this guest house is based on my holistic lifestyle of wellness and creativity. |
